Types of Remuneration

Longitudinal Family Physician Payment (LFP) Model
This payment model was introduced in 2023 in response to the urgent need to retain and attract family physicians into community longitudinal practice. Contact us for more information, or log into your Doctors of BC membership account.
Group Contracts
Physicians involved with the Primary Care Network are eligible to apply for the Practicing Family Physician Group Contract through Doctors of BC. This 3-year contract administered by the Health Authority is ideal if:
- You work in a group clinic offering longitudinal family care and either align with or are interested in aligning with the Patient Medical Home principles
- You have started or are interested in joining a Primary Care Network
- You have currently defined or are interested in defining your patient panel
Individual Contract – New-to-Practice
This is an hourly contract for individual family physicians without an existing patient panel, who wish to join a group practice or build their own panel of attached patients. This 2-year contract administered by the Health Authority is available to physicians who fulfill the following criteria:
- You are prepared to provide community longitudinal family practice services
- You do not have an established patient panel
- You are prepared to join a full-service group clinic
- You are prepared to commit to a minimum of 0.5 full-time equivalent
