In 2024, the South Island Division conducted a member survey to gather insights on the significance of planetary health in their daily professional activities. The survey focused on:
- The impact of climate change on family physicians, as well as patient and public health
- Strategies to reduce the healthcare sector’s environmental footprint in clinic and hospital settings
- Approaches for educating patients about planetary health
The responses highlighted the vital need to collaborate with our local partners in establishing a Planetary Health Working Group.
